Heimtextil 26 by Cristiana Masi

Heimtextil 2026 concluded, leaving behind much more than trends and numbers: it confirmed a clear direction for the world of textile design and decorative surfaces. From January 13 to 16, 2026, in Frankfurt, we had the privilege of being active participants, welcoming clients, architects, and industry professionals at our stand A38 – Hall 3.0. In this context, we presented the 2026 Collections, a proposal articulated through distinct languages and creative visions: Momi, with its delicate, fairytale-inspired universe dedicated to childhood; Metamorphosis, an expression of material and transformative research; Agorà, a contemporary reinterpretation of classical design; Jaipur, evoking suspended, contemplative atmospheres; and Pigmenta, an essential synthesis of color and material. Four intense days, filled with meetings, discussions, and new opportunities, gave us a concrete picture of how the market is evolving and of how wallpaper today plays a leading role in contemporary interior design.

Heimtextil confirms year after year its role as the global reference platform for home and contract textiles. Not just a trade fair, but an ecosystem where manufacturers, designers, architects, and buyers come together to observe, exchange ideas, and anticipate the transformations of the industry. In this edition, the story of surfaces was particularly strong. The Heimtextil Trends 26/27, curated by Alcova Milano in collaboration with Patricia Urquiola, placed a mature dialogue between design, technology, and responsibility at the center. Patterns, textures, and color palettes spoke of fluid spaces, integrated projects, and surfaces designed to endure over time, engaging in conversation with architecture, interior design, and contract projects. Panels, talks, guided tours, and special shows enriched the fair experience, transforming it into a genuine moment of learning and inspiration. An ideal setting to observe up close how the industry is redefining priorities and languages.

Hall 3.0 was one of the beating hearts of the event. Here, among international exhibitors and design studios, the language of decorative surfaces found a fully realized design dimension.
At our stand, we presented wallpaper not as a mere surface covering, but as a narrative tool: a material capable of creating atmospheres, visual depth, and relationships with light and space. Feedback, especially from architects and hospitality professionals, confirmed a growing attention to highly expressive, customized solutions.
The theme of this edition – Craft is a verb – emerged strongly in our sector as well. Technology does not erase the creative gesture; it amplifies it. Textured surfaces, intentional imperfections, and irregular marks now convey a new idea of quality—more authentic and conscious.

One of the most evident aspects of Heimtextil 2026 was the shift in perspective on sustainability. No longer a promise or an accessory value, it has become a concrete requirement. Conversations at the stand touched on key topics such as materials, production processes, durability, and environmental responsibility.
Yet the true value of the fair remains human. Heimtextil is a place where conversations become projects. Over four days, we met long-standing partners and new contacts from Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, sharing a common vision: designing spaces capable of inspiring and standing the test of time.
We return from Frankfurt with one certainty: wallpaper is experiencing a renewed centrality in interior design. Heimtextil 2026 was not just a showcase, but a moment of alignment between industry, creativity, and the market. Being present at Hall 3.0 – Stand A38 meant listening to the future and contributing, once again, to shaping it.
